NTA statement on new U.S. entry restrictions

from NTA and The Associated Press

Visitors from eight countries will face new restrictions on entering the U.S., outlined in a proclamation signed by President Donald Trump on Sunday. "Unlike earlier bans, which limited entry for 90 days, the new restrictions are indefinite and vary by country," said Pam Inman, NTA president. "Also, this proclamation gives consular officers the discretion to waive the new restrictions if a foreign national doesn’t pose a threat to national security and demonstrates that being denied entry into the U.S. would cause undue hardship. What remains to be determined, though, is the legal scope of this proclamation. We'll continue to monitor this issue and advocate for our members' business interests." more
