Does bias influence your hiring practices?

from ProSales

Each of us has implicit and explicit biases, both of which impact how we live, work and interact with our peers. With regard to work, these biases typically amount to both men and women tending to associate men with the career world and women with home and family life, says Liz Redford, a doctoral candidate in social psychology at the University of Florida and a consultant with Project Implicit.
“Our implicit biases may be less intended and less conscious than our explicit ones,” Redford adds. “Explicitly, we believe women should be as associated with career as they are with family, but implicitly, we might not think that.” more
