EBA Adds Two New On-Demand Programs for Members

from EBA

EBA is unveiling two new On-Demand Programs as part of its 24/7 online learning opportunities for members. The new additions are:

Join the International Energy & Transactions Committee and the Natural Gas Committee for "LNG Exports Fueled by the Hydraulic Fracturing Revolution: What are the Geopolitical Implications?" This informative discussion with leading experts explores the geopolitical impact of LNG exports from the U.S. made possible by hydraulic fracturing. In June 2017, Poland received its first shipment of LNG from the United States. President Donald Trump also recently promoted U.S. gas exports at a meeting of the 12 countries on the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Seas. At the Energizer, the American Petroleum Institute’s Ben Norris will discuss the fracking revolution and its role in enabling LNG exports. The Center for Liquefied Natural Gas’s Charlie Riedl will talk about the U.S.’s growing role in LNG exports. And Branko Terzic of the Berkeley Research Group will explore the geopolitical implications of these exports.

Ari Peskoe, Senior Fellow at Harvard Law School's Environmental Policy Initiative, discusses "Can State CO2 Reduction Policies be Implemented Through FERC-Regulated Tariffs?", which also appeared as an article in the Spring edition of the Energy Law Journal – "Easing Jurisdictional Tensions By Integrating Public Policy In Wholesale Electricity Markets." Peskoe explores FERC's authority under the Federal Power Act to approve wholesale tariffs that facilitate market participants' achievement of their legal obligations under renewable energy and CO2 policies. His talk will examine threshold legal issues concerning the boundaries of state and federal law, focusing in particular on FERC's jurisdiction to authorize a zero emission initiative developed by stakeholders of ISO New England. more
