Severe obesity rates on the decline for low-income children

Prevalence of severe obesity may be on the decline among young, low-income children, researchers reported. Among children 2 to 4 years of age enrolled in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program, the prevalence of severe obesity significantly decreased from 2.12 percent in 2010 down to 1.96 percent in 2014, according to Liping Pan, M.D., of the CDC in Atlanta, and colleagues.
