Hughes Stadium demolition shows that recycling, not junking, forsaken buildings is possible

from Coloradoan

The state of the Larimer County Landfill has a little to do with your trash habits and a lot to do with Fort Collins’ ever-shifting skyline. With nearly 400 buildings torn down and 6,300 built since 2015, Fort Collins construction and demolition projects have sent hundreds of thousands of tons of waste to the near-capacity landfill. Even in a city with one of Colorado’s most progressive recycling policies, city-monitored construction and demolition projects landfilled an average of 75 percent of their waste last year. more
