Antarctica struck by massive 7.1 earthquake — volcanic island rocked by waves

The 7.1 magnitude quake struck on Monday close to the South Sandwich Islands, a British owned group of islands north of Antarctica. Its epicentre was 61km northeast of Bristol Island, a small island composed of several active volcanoes. The earthquake's depth was 165km, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said. more
