How long have you been an ASHI member? 7 years

Where was the ASHI meeting held the first time you attended? My first ASHI meeting was at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel in 2013. I travelled there with our Director Dr. Vijay Sharma. At talks, I remember getting lost in the HLA nomenclature, while others were asking questions. As I was in the Transplant Research field since 2006, I met a few of my acquaintances that had also been part of the histocompatibility and immunogenetics field. Additionally, I met a rich cast of characters that are animated, passionate, serious and most of all caring. Reflecting back on my first meeting, I consider all of these people my colleagues and my friends.
