Report reveals US airports need $128 billion infrastructure upgrade

In its report, "Terminally challenged: Addressing the infrastructure funding shortfall of America's airports," the Airports Council International – North America revealed that U.S. airport infrastructure needs a total of $128.1 billion in funding in the next five years, equal to $25.6 billion per year. The report claims that the increased funding is needed for work to accommodate increasing passenger and cargo traffic, rehabilitate existing facilities and support aircraft innovation. Facilities that it claims must be built include terminals, gates, baggage systems, security checkpoints, roadways and runways. more
