from IAEM

FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute (EMI) released 28 new Public Assistance Independent Study courses that enhance the capacity of communities to achieve their immediate and long-term recovery goals. Course content covers the Public Assistance Program and delivery process, including general concepts, such as documenting disaster damage and orientation to the Public Assistance delivery model. The new course content includes specialized topics, such as bridge damage, roads and culverts, electrical systems, and grant decisions for tribal governments. These online courses will also help applicants to navigate the grant process. They are designed for state, local, tribal and territorial (SLTT) government personnel and elected and appointed officials. All independent study courses are offered free-of-charge.
