NABE Celebrates its 2019 Annual Conference amid the Magic and Splendor of Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL

from NABE

NABE launched its 48th Annual International Bilingual Education Professional Development Conference on March 7, 2019, at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort, Orlando with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony in the exhibit hall with more than 100 vendors, exhibitors, recruiters, 20 International Countries and 45 states representing close to 3,000 participants. The Conference was highlighted with a surprise visit by Mickey from Disney World that validated the Theme for this year's conference: Experience the Magic — Biliteracy as a Global Imperative: Enriched Education for Empowerment, Equity and Excellence (E3). Many dignitaries, education and political leaders from Orange, Osceola, Polk, Volusa, Brevard, West Palm Beach, Miami Dade and Broward Counties were joined by the NABE Executive Board, including the local planning committee, domestic and international affiliate officers from Spain, Mexico, China, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, the U.S. Office of Education and the States Title III Directors. Ana Roca Castro, CEO/Founder of Genius Plaza USA and a NABE Diamond Sponsor, moderated the global panel of the education ministers of the three African nations (Uganda, Zimbabwe, Nigeria). This was an extraordinary first in NABE's history to have African Nations represented to share their engagement in bilingual education, technology and global economics. They also shared the first ever UN Global Compact Agreement on a common approach to international migration in all its dimensions.
