Black engineers convention to help push more minority students into jobs

When Jordan Olear was young, she used to watch her brothers work on their cars, adding a piece here, upgrading a piece there and turning their cars into something cool. But watching was all she did. They didn't let her work on it, despite her interest. That experience led Olear, a 21-year-old junior at the University of Houston, to the field of mechanical engineering. It also drew her to Detroit for the 45th annual National Society of Black Engineers conference. more
