AAOE is looking to secure innovative lecture, course and panel speakers for its 2013 AAOE Annual Conference being held April 28-30 in San Diego. General topics of interest are business development, financial management, governance/leadership, human resources, information technology, operations and regulatory/legislation. Applications related to these above-listed topics as well as other topics are welcome.

Pro soccer players are much more likely to suffer ankle sprains when one foot is stronger than the other, according to a Greek study. The researchers did preseason tests of ankle strength and stability in 100 players from four professional soccer teams in Greece, then followed the players over the next 10 months to see who would get hurt on the field. The California Supreme Court has refused to bar specially trained nurses from giving anesthetics to hospital patients in California without a doctor's supervision. The court's order ends a legal battle between an alliance of nurses and hospitals, on one side, and California physicians, who were joined on the other side by the American Medical Association and doctors' organizations in other states.
