In mid-December, the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy gave a presentation to the Senate Finance Committee on how to optimize the effectiveness of incentives to increase energy efficiency. According to ACEEE's analysis, the most effective incentives specifically target advanced technologies policymakers want to be adopted, they need to be big enough to spur people to take action, and need to last long enough — generally about five years — to integrate them into the marketplace. OSHA issues plan to help reduce injuries, illnesses at high hazard workplaces

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued its annual inspection plan under the Site-Specific Targeting 2012 program to direct enforcement resources to workplaces where the highest rates of injuries and illnesses occur. SST is one of OSHA's main programmed inspection plans for high hazard, non-construction workplaces that have 20 or more workers. The SST plan is based on data collected from a survey of 80,000 establishments in high hazard industries. More
