President Barack Obama signed the American Energy Manufacturing Technical Corrections Act (H.R. 6582) after the bill received bipartisan support in Congress. The law is a modification of the Enabling Energy Savings Innovations Act (H.R. 4850) and includes elements of the Shaheen-Portman Senate bill. U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu has announced seven offshore wind awards for projects in Maine, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Texas and Virginia. CHP: Combined heat and power in commercial buildings to double over next decade

According to Pike Research, CHP systems in commercial buildings will total almost 39 gigawatts in 2012, but will more than double to 79.5 GW in 2022. As a result, the market will grow from $2.2 billion to $11.2 billion over the next decade. HVAC project could cut power costs at community center

High utility bills at the Ozark Community Center led the city's Parks and Recreation Department to examine how to cut costs. A major modification to the heating and cooling system at the OC could mean big savings in the future. The OC has 21 separate HVAC units with corresponding thermostats. The units can come on or shut off at any time, depending on how the thermostats are set. Director of Parks and Recreation Samantha Wagner told the Ozark Board of Aldermen that heavy use takes an extra toll on the utility bill. More

That's because key incentives for continuing to develop clean, renewable wind power — the renewable energy Production Tax Credit and offshore wind Investment Tax Credit — are set to expire if Congress fails to act.
