Sprinklers inside Paul Schat's Bakery at the Carson Mall located in Carson, Nev., quickly knocked out a small electrical fire. Carson City Fire Battaliion Chief Eric Bero said heat tape inside the freezer shorted out against the copper pipe, heating the pipe and igniting some boxes and paper bags resting against the pipe. The heat ignited the overhead sprinklers and the fire was doused. More

A fire broke out at the Mills furniture store located in Manchester, Conn. The Fire department says the fire started around 3 a.m., but was quickly put out by the store's sprinkler system. The Clark County Fire Department located in Las Vegas, responded to a mattress fire on the 38th floor of the Rio that prompted the evacuation of four floors.
