Read Write Web    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article

Jewelry Insider    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Fall jewelry trends for 2010 are starting to reveal themselves, and while layered chain necklaces and bangle stacks continue to shine bright, there's a fun new look that's sure to stir things up: statement rings. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge postponed ruling on an ownership claim of the Bahia Emerald and set a trial date for Sept. 8. Judge John A. Kronstadt will hear the Thomas claim, as well as a separate claim by Mark Downie, as to the ownership on the morning of Sept. 8, and then he is expected to proceed with a bench trial and opening statements in the case. Telegraph    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Naomi Campbell, the model, admitted that she was given "dirty rocks" by the former Liberian ruler Charles Taylor as she gives evidence at his war crimes trial. She told the court she handed the gems to a colleague and told him to "do something good with them". She said she had wanted them to be donated to charity but added: "He still has them so they didn't benefit." The court was shown documents from the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund "categorically" stating that the charity had not received the diamonds, although records showed Campbell made cash donations to it in 1997 and 1998.
