PR Newswirwe    Share   Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
In line with Caterpillar Inc.'s global commitment to sustainable development, two Caterpillar facilities achieved zero waste to landfill in 2010. The Caterpillar Remanufacturing and Components Division United Kingdom Hose Assembly plant in Leicester, England and the Caterpillar Logistics Services (Cat Logistics) Desford, England operations have reached 100-percent recycling in their respective facilities. "Caterpillar recognizes that providing sustainable solutions starts with having sustainable operations. That's why we've established corporate long-term goals focused on sustainability for all of our operations worldwide," said Caterpillar Chairman and CEO, Doug Oberhelman. "One of those operational goals is to eliminate waste by reducing waste generation and reusing or recycling all that remains." More

Industrial food processing equipment
Remanufacturing.org    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Remanufacturing in the IFPE sector is currently at a low level. There is some evidence of 'wash and brush up' operations and a thriving second hand market. There is little or no evidence of any move towards remanufacturing at this time. Previous attempts at remanufacturing have been unsustainable. Enhanced capital allowance may encourage food processing companies to look towards remanufacturing as a viable alternative. However, although the scheme is available for new equipment, there has not been a wide application to the ECA system by industry, and therefore should not be used as the only tool to secure success.
