Now, a firm called Discount Recycle Ink in Maplewood, Minn., is giving new life to unwanted ink throughout the Midwest by adding a fourth "R" — remanufacture. Discount Recycle Ink's twist is that they work with sheet-fed, heat-set, and cold-set printers of all sizes to reclaim waste and obsolete ink and remanufacture it into a color-matched black that, it says, prints as well or better than the virgin stuff. The name of a large oil and gas services company that received tax incentives, from Denton, Texas, nearly a month ago, was revealed recently. Schlumberger Ltd., a leading worldwide oil services company, plans to set up a centralized maintenance facility at a business park on Interstate 35-W in south Denton, said Stephen Harris, a spokesman for the company, in a written statement. U.S. Aerospace Inc, a Southern California-based contractor that filed a protest after its bid for a U.S. multibillion-dollar contract to build aerial tankers was rejected, said that it had sold a non-aerospace unit. In a statement, U.S. Aerospace said the New Century Remanufacturing Inc unit, a machine-tool manufacturing business, was divested. The company said it expected to book a gain of more than $1 million on the sale in the current quarter. More |
