ASAM's Live Learning Center releases new content from the ASAM 2011 Course on State of the Art in Addiction Medicine!

All sessions from the March issue of E2 include content from State of the Art. This issue's featured session has been made available at no cost by an unrestricted educational grant from Titan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. All State of the Art sessions combined provide 22 hours of CME. Attendees from State of the Art will be able to access all sessions as part of registration fees from the course.

Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment

This course provides lessons on how to appropriately screen for and identify substance abuse, plan and implement a tailored brief intervention, improve care management and referral skills for brief treatment or severe problem/addiction treatment and applies the SBIRT approach to substance abuse problems by individualizing these clinical skills to different patients.

Buprenorphine and Office Based Treatment of Opioid Dependence

This course provides training to physicians who meet the requirement of DATA 2000. This training will increase the number of physicians who are knowledgeable about and qualified to prescribe buprenorphine to their opioid-dependent patients.

Tobacco Treatment Training

These courses offer basic clinical behavioral intervention steps for helping patients quit smoking or other tobacco use. One of the courses provides insights on age-specific intervention for tobacco cessation. The core program offers a case-based approach to teach the basic clinical intervention steps to help patients quit smoking or using other forms of tobacco.
