Even a continuation of the "war on coal," precipitated by the Obama administration will eventually falter, even if the Democrats return to the Oval Office after 2016, according to a recent determination by a highly respected analysis.

Cautious Outlook From Amazon Helps Drive Stocks Down
The Associated Press via Industrial Distribution
Investors got some bad news about the American shopper on Friday, driving down stocks and sending the Dow Jones industrial average to a loss for the week. Two major U.S. companies — the retail giant Amazon and the credit card processor Visa — both said that the second half of the year was looking more troubled than originally expected. The cautious outlook from two companies so heavily exposed to consumer spending spooked investors, causing the stock market to fall at the open and remain lower throughout the day.

Energy Efficiency Opportunities in the Manufacturing Sector

One-third of the energy consumed in the United States is by the manufacturing sector. Ninety percent of the manufacturing sector are small- and medium-sized businesses, or SMM, that use about half of the energy consumed in manufacturing. Electrical demand, also known as on-site energy consumption is a rich target for SMM businesses as they tend to pay more per kWh than their larger competitors. With savings easy to come by, why have small- and medium-sized manufacturers been slow to jump on the savings bandwagon?
