Characterization of multidrug-resistant organisms presents several technological and decision making challenges. Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) is at the forefront in combating this issue.
In this talk, Capt. Amanda Roth, Ph.D., the Chief of Integrated Diagnostics, Multidrug-resistant Organism Repository and Surveillance Network, presents WRAIR's approach and the technologies successfully employed for characterization of antibiotic-resistant infections. Dr. Roth also discusses the capability of the Multidrug-resistant Organism Repository and Surveillance Network to respond to these infections.
