The Department of Justice is seeking public comments on possible changes to requirements under titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act to ensure that equipment and furniture used in programs and services provided by public entities and public accommodations are accessible to individuals with disabilities. Of specific interest to the club industry are the sections regarding exercise equipment and furniture; accessible golf cars; and beds in accessible guest rooms and sleeping rooms. More

The new owners of Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, Mass., plan to keep the historic golf club private and have retained most staff members, including Paul Parajeckas as head pro and Don D'Errico as superintendent. John Magill, owner of Highfields Golf and Country Club in Grafton, Mass., purchased PV for $5 million in a foreclosure auction on Nov. 16 and the sale closed on last week. More

When Dave Santori was a kid, he followed the America's Cup sailboat race the way many of his friends followed football: He could name every kind of boat on the water and each member of each crew — from the skipper to the mastman to the bowman. The announcement over the weekend that the America's Cup will come to San Francisco Bay in 2013 is "beyond my wildest dreams," the 67-year-old said. US economic growth revised up to 2.6 percent for third quarter

U.S. economy grew at an annualized pace of 2.6 percent in the third quarter of 2010, slightly faster than the previous estimate of 2.5 percent, figures have shown. However, the rate was lower than expectations, with some analysts expecting a figure closer to 3 percent. Earlier this month, the U.S. Federal Reserve said the U.S. recovery was still too slow to bring down the country's high level of unemployment. More
