About Nashville speaker David Brownstein, MD:
Iodine — Why you need it, why you can't live without it
Imagine a universal nutrient that could help you improve your health, while preventing many future diseases. Perhaps it could also improve mental function, while preventing Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Wouldn't it be nice if it would remove heavy metals and clean out clogged arteries, preventing heart attacks, strokes and other atherosclerosis-related problems? Such a nutrient does exist and a growing number of doctors are encouraging "orthoiodosupplementation."
Toxic update — Preparing for ICIM Nashville's lecture 'Toxicity in Built Spaces'
We often think of our homes as a sanctuary, a place of safety we can go to for rest and relaxation and to recharge for the next day. Home is a place where life happens and where families grow. But did you know that your home is filled with chemicals? Everyday exposures to toxins occur through the products we use each day that make life more convenient.
Nashville speaker book of the week by Tom Levy, MD
Bret Pierce writes, "Having seen vitamin c infusions first hand, having witnessed complete remissions of Brain tumor, malignant melanoma, and adenocarcinoma, having used sodium ascorbate on my asthmatic daughter to stop her coughing at night when she had a cold, having crusaded for Linus Pauling to the condemnation of my medical colleagues, this book is a wonderful compilation of data that strongly implicates the AMA as being negligent in their oath and responsibilities."

HCG — Spinal cord and neuronal regeneration
Paralysis reversed in six weeks flat. Spinal cord restoring miracle substance "hidden away" for over two decades finally revealed. A safe natural substance that can help restore even partial function after a spinal cord has been completely severed should be very big news. You'd expect that the revelation that paralyzed and stuck in a wheelchair after a devastating spinal cord injury is not a life sentence should have been on the front page of every newspaper across the world. Yet, you've likely never even heard about this breakthrough.

Big food's new plan to kill GMP labeling laws
The food industry is going door-to-door on Capitol Hill, seeking lawmakers willing to sponsor a bill to preempt state mandatory GMO labeling laws by substituting a weak federal "solution." The "solution" Big Food has in mind would limit the U.S. Food & Drug Administration's power to require mandatory labeling of foods containing genetically modified organisms. It would also wipe out states' rights to enact mandatory labeling laws and would guarantee companies the right to use the word "natural" on products that contain GMOs

CDC — Flu shots ineffective but take them anyway
According to Robert Rowen's excellent newsletter, the Center for Disease Control tells us that flu shots are estimated to be about 9 percent effective in the elderly this year but we should encourage everyone to take them anyway. Dr. R suggests 5000iu of vitamin D3 daily as a much better preventative.
Report from a visitor to ICIM member Robert Rowen, MD:
Doctor reports her office observations

Dr. Robert Rowen writes, "Gifted doctor with me for the day tells of her observations in the office. Dental evaluation of patient changes her skepticism of muscle testing for evaluation of source of problem."
Healing with language: Softeners
You are undoubtedly familiar with the saying "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down" from the film "Mary Poppins." Most adults, however, are taught to take their medicine "straight" without the sugar. That may be good thing for some kinds of "adult medicine" but some medicines still need a metaphorical spoonful of sugar if they are to go down.

Medicine of the past, present and future:
Our ancestors traditional food preparation
You may find this hard to believe but bacteria rich food is very beneficial, containing the good bacteria our body needs to stay healthy and fight our ills. Around the world, fermentation has an integral role in our food system; it is like a probiotic but even better. It was used by our ancestors before the 19th century to preserve food before the age of canning and refrigeration. There is now a new revival period for fermented food with new cookbooks and articles about how to prepare.
Measurement variability associated with KXRF bone lead measurement in young adults
Environ Health Perspect via National Library of Medicine
In vivo bone lead measurement using K X-ray fluorescence has been used to estimate long-term lead exposure, especially in adults. Relatively few studies have been conducted on young subjects with this technique. To explore the measurement variability of KXRF bone lead measurements in young subjects, the tibiae of two male cadavers from Boston, Massachusetts — 17 and 20 years of age — were obtained for repeated bone lead measurements.

Practice management: 12 ways to grow your integrative medince practice beyond internet marketing
Glen Sabin writes, "I am widely known as the 'digital' marketer based on my writings and consulting practice which often focus on customer engagement via online strategies. That's fair. Yet I also have an extensive background in more traditional forms of media and marketing. And today I'm here to tell you that there are plenty of tried and true methods for building clinic utilization not dependent on the Web or digital marketing."
A single natural supplement could solve your anxiety problems?
Alliance for Natural Health USA
How would you like to be crippled by anxiety, suffer frequent panic attacks, write a book about it and never be told about a single natural supplement that could solve the problem? Don't end up like Scott Stossel, suffering a tragically impaired life because the FDA, Big Pharma and conventional doctors have failed to give you information about natural alternatives.
Dr. Ann Sura writes, "I wanted to let you and the ICIM group know how much I enjoyed it. For the first time in 15 years of practice, I can honestly say it was a truly integrated conference. Being able to sit at lunch or dinner or mingle on a break with MDs, DOs, NDs, NPs and others to discuss the days topics and lectures was truly awesome."
