By ICIM member Conrad Maulfair DO: What do heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and cancer have in common?
Maulfair Medical Center
Diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and cancer are the big four. Three of them are considered chronic degenerative diseases; they are ongoing and worsen over time. The likely common denominator among these diseases — and for that matter accelerated aging — is a toxic body load of heavy metals. Yes, toxic metals! There is a mountain of medical evidence validating the fact that small amounts of toxic metals; lead, cadmium, mercury, uranium, arsenic and others contribute to the development of chronic degenerative disease.

Learn how to stop the toxic time bomb and get the metals out at ICIM's chelation workshop April 23-24 in Dallas.

By ICIM member Carol Petersen RPh, CNP: Metalloestrogens
The world abounds with substances that affect hormone balance. It is widely accepted that that there are many organic substances that affect hormone activity in the body. For example, soy has estrogen-like qualities and ginseng acts as an adrenal adaptogen. We can use these organic substances in ways that are beneficial to the body. On the other hand, organic substances like phthalates, PCBs and BPA mimic estrogens in a negative way. They create a burden of too much estrogen activity in the body.

Bee venom has magnificent healing properties and is effective for the treatment of multiple chronic and autoimmune conditions. The list of conditions where bee venom therapy can make a significant lasting difference is growing. By ICIM member Paul Lynn MD: Letter to Sen. Claire McCaskill
San Francisco Preventive Medical Group
"Dear Sen. McCaskill, as a physician who has spent my time since medical school hopefully 'being part of the solution' as you put it, it appears to me that your recent televised conversation with Dr. Mehmet Oz was a great missed opportunity to bring attention to the lack of effective medical consumer protection, which is so urgently needed."

AAEM presents active approaches to the management of food allergy
AAEM
April 23-24, Dallas
Food allergy is a known cause for multiple hidden symptoms. In fact, it is unusual to find a patient with resistant rhinitis, migraines, asthma, recurrent infections, fatigue, colitis, arthritis, depression, chemical sensitivity and many other resistant symptoms who does not have one or more foods that can exacerbate these symptoms. Allergy does not need to be restricted to IgE or IgG mediated sensitivities, for there are a dozen mechanisms by which foods can cause symptoms. Food allergy is a problem encountered by every physician, irrespective of their specialty or type of practice.
