Paradox & Controversy: Infections, Cancer Management, and Energy Medicine
Oct. 28-Nov. 1, 2015

ICIM is a medical association of physicians dedicated to exploring and teaching integrative treatments to help our patients. Our 60th meeting is coming up Oct. 30-Nov. 1 in Chicago. This newsletter is designed to prepare attendees and continue discussions of the education we provide.

Why come to ICIM's Chicago meeting?
We know that human beings have an energy system. We suspect that that system can be manipulated, measured and used for healing. Some of us know how to do that. But most of us don't know why it works. Join us for Energy and Medicine: Paradox & Controversy to examine the science behind our experience of energy.

By ICIM member S. Cornelia Franz MD: What do we do about the flu
The Franz Center
Flu is universal and occurs yearly, placing the very young, the very old and the immuno-compromised at high risk for severe illness and even death. Fortunately, our immune system was designed to handle illness. Of course, it can be compromised and overwhelmed, which can lead to serious problems. Eating well, drinking plenty of fluids, getting plenty of rest, washing hands and using common sense will do the bulk of the work to support the immune system and prevent illness.

Shared By Facebook friend Jake Wardwell DO: B vitamin is found to help people prone to some types of skin cancer
The New York Times
Nicotinamide and vitamin B3 reduces incidence of nonmelanoma skin cancer. This safe, affordable and effective preventative vitamin will not get much more press than this because it is not patentable. If you know anyone who seems to be accumulating skin cancers or pre-cancerous lesions like actinic keratoses, recommend Nicotinamide.
