Oct. 28-Nov. 1, 2015

'Fundamental Uses of Energetic Assessment in Chronic Illness': Lead-in workshop Oct. 29
It has been well established that the body requires electricity for its daily functions. The brain, heart, muscles, blood, nervous system and each cell are all electricity reliant. To take an opposing view for this would be in vital error. The challenges that face energetic diagnostics however, are related to some very apparent issues which will be discussed in detail. Click here for 10 questions about energy medicine we will address in this half-day workshop.

By ICIM speaker Silvia Binder ND: Lyme patients tell their stories
From Theresa J.: "Living with Lyme for the last 30 years has been challenging, and at times, life threatening for me. By 2009, I was so debilitated from this disease, I could barely walk or talk and definitely not able to take care of myself. My daughter had to take care of me as I was not able to do even the simplest day to day activities. Even though I have had serious bouts before, this time I feared I may never get better. It was late January when I was exposed to the first step that would help me on the road to recovery. It was the Gerson therapy. The Gerson therapy is basically a nutrient-dense plant based diet of fruits and vegetables with an emphasis of raw juices. It also stressed detoxing with coffee enemas and bentonite clay packs. Within a few weeks of the therapy, I noticed my pain level to decrease and I knew, finally, something that would be beneficial in my healing."

Interview with ICIM speaker Stephen Fry MD: Introduction to Protomyxzoa
Protomyxzoa Rheumatica is a newly discovered infectious organism that causes chronic disease. Protomyxzoa was discovered by Fry Laboratories of Scottsdale, Arizona. Although they have published no scientific papers on the organism, they offer a polymerase chain reaction DNA test for the organism, and they have done substantial work on culturing, characterizing and sequencing the DNA of the organism. Unfortunately, all this work remains unpublished.

Recommended by ICIM member John Trowbridge MD: World-renowned heart surgeon speaks out on what really causes heart disease
Despite the fact that 25 percent of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before. Statistics from the American Heart Association show that 75 million Americans currently suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 57 million have pre-diabetes. These disorders are affecting younger and younger people in greater numbers every year.

By ICIM speaker James Oschman PhD: Energy medicine and longevity
The public is attracted to energetic techniques because they are cost effective, are relatively non-invasive, and have few if any side effects. Those who follow the emerging field of energy medicine are exposed to entirely new vistas about how the human body works in health and disease. Some of the major new perspectives will be considered here.

ICIM Speaker book of the week

Lee Cowden: 'Foods that Fit a Unique You'
Most diet books today focus on a one-size-fits-all approach to food selection. In "Foods that Fit a Unique You," authors W. Lee Cowden, M.D., and Connie Strasheim, prove that no two people have the same biochemistry and needs, and that one-size-fit-all food plans are therefore inadequate for determining what you need to eat for optimal health, fitness and weight maintenance.
