Paradox & Controversy: Infections, Cancer Management, and Energy Medicine
Oct. 28-Nov. 1, 2015

ICIM is a medical association of physicians dedicated to exploring and teaching integrative treatments to help our patients. Our 60th meeting is coming up Oct. 30-Nov. 1 in Chicago. This newsletter is designed to prepare attendees and continue discussions of the education we provide.

Our objective is to learn
Medical science is constantly evolving, but today's healthcare providers are on the brink of a fundamental paradigm shift. In light of new, evidence-based understandings of the biological sciences, physicians are beginning to re-discover the forgotten practice of energy medicine. Although energy medicine is a controversial science, ICIM seeks to address the seemingly paradoxical nature of the discipline by exploring it from many different fields of medicine. This conference will cover everything from the basic science of bio-physics, cancer management, and biological dentistry, to magnetic pulse therapy, micro-current therapy, homeopathy, and thermography. ICIM's goal is to connect different diagnostic and healing modalities relating to energy medicine, which will allow doctors one step closer to curing the incurables. Here is a list of our speakers and objectives for a great weekend of learning together.

By ICIM member David Brownstein MD: CDC: A cesspool of corruption
Last summer, a senior CDC scientist Dr. William Thompson, admitted that the CDC altered data that showed the MMR vaccine was associated with autism. In fact, the original CDC data showed that the MMR vaccine when given before 36 months of age was associated with a 240 percent increase in autism in African-American children. Furthermore, there was a 69 percent increase in autism in any male child who received the vaccine before 36 months of age. Where is the outrage? Where are the marches? Where are the media reports? If this information is true, tens of thousands of children may have been harmed from receiving a MMR vaccine over the last 11 years. It is now July 2015. Nearly one year later and nothing has happened. Zip. Zero. No Testimony. No hearing. No nothing. Why?

Chronic disease
Tennant Institute for Integrative Medicine
The body is constantly wearing itself out. You make new cells in your retina every 48 hours. The lining of your intestine is replaced every three days. Your skin is replaced every six weeks. Your liver is replaced every eight weeks. Your nervous system is replaced every eight months. Chronic disease occurs when you lose the ability to make new cells that work.

Look forward to 'It's a Gut Feeling' in Atlanta, March 3-6, 2016

From ICIM's LinkedIn friend Jill Carnahan MD: Diet-induced dysbiosis of the gut microbes and the effects on immunity
The gastrointestinal microbiota is the collection of microbes which reside in the GI tract and represents the largest source of nonself antigens in the human body. The GI tract functions as a major immunological organ as it must maintain tolerance to commensal and dietary antigens while remaining responsive to pathogenic stimuli. If this balance is disrupted, inappropriate inflammatory processes can result, leading to host cell damage and/or autoimmunity.
