Recommended by ICIM member Robban Sica MD: Poisoned: A dying bald eagle and its healers fight for a 2nd chance
Environmental Health News
Meghan Warren grabbed the bald eagle's legs with thick leather gloves to secure its powerful talons. With her other hand, she pinned the bird's wings before they could unfold to a six-foot span. As Warren slowly removed the ailing eagle from an oxygen chamber at the animal hospital, the bird suddenly awakened from a stupor. He snapped his yellow hooked beak, puncturing her right cheek. Blood trickled down her face. It was a surprising move for a bird in such poor shape. Less than 36 hours earlier, this eagle was too weak to hold up his white-feathered head. He arrived at the Teton Raptor Center slumped on his breast, wings drooped: another casualty of lead poisoning.

Following up on ICIM's End Pain Conference: In states with medical marijuana, painkiller deaths drop by 25 percent
Newsweek
America has a major problem with prescription pain medications like Vicodin and OxyContin. Overdose deaths from these pharmaceutical opioids have approximately tripled since 1991, and every day 46 people die of such overdoses in the United States. However, in the 13 states that passed laws allowing for the use of medical marijuana between 1999 and 2010, 25 percent fewer people die from opioid overdoses annually.

Ozone therapy has been used for many years: Can ozone help fight the Ebola virus?
Ozone Journal
Ebola virus disease, formerly known as Ebola haemorrhagic fever, is a severe, and often fatal, illness for humans. EVD outbreaks have a case fatality rate of up to 90 percent. EVD outbreaks occur primarily in the remote villages of Central and West Africa, near tropical rainforests. The virus is transmitted to people through wild animals, and spreads in the human population via human-to-human transmission. Fruit bats of the Pteropodidae family are considered to be the natural host of the Ebola virus. Severely ill patients require intensive supportive care. No licensed specific treatment or vaccine is available for use in people or animals.
