IBCMT    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From July 27: The Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy, investigating the chelation therapy ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid in coronary heart disease patients, is once again the subject of controversy. The $30 million TACT, sponsored by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine and the National Institutes of Health, was stopped in 2008 while "allegations of impropriety" were investigated. These centered on concerns over the patient-consent process. The trial was restarted in 2009. More

The truth about hormone therapy
The Wall Street Journal    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From Nov. 9: Mainstream medicine has been given a wake-up call on a matter critical to the health of 65 million women in the U.S. At issue are the options for treatment of menopause symptoms that cause significant health problems for women in midlife as their bodies produce fewer hormones. It doesn't seem like a complicated problem, given advances in medical science. Yet hormone-replacement therapy has become a textbook example of how special interests, a confused medical establishment and opportunists can combine to complicate the issue and deny patients access to safe and effective treatments. Toxins and detoxification: Can we safely remove hazardous wastes from our bodies?
Submitted by ICIM Speaker David Getoff    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From Aug. 31: Your body is loaded with poisons, which have been accumulating since conception. What does the research show? What illnesses and health conditions are greatly increased by having various poisons in your body? Are there any safe ways to reduce your toxic load, also referred to as body burden? Can reducing these toxins also reduce symptoms, extend life and prevent disease? These questions and more are the reasons I have written this article. More

The cockroaches are dying off
John Parks Trowbridge    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
From Nov. 9: You've got to be kidding — cockroach fossils date from about 300 million years ago, they're survivors. How could ancient bugs that have survived every calamity in world history be dying off now? Okay, we're kidding. The cockroach "design" has been pretty perfect through the ages. That's testimony to something that can adapt to changing conditions and still come out a winner. Unfortunately, "modern medicine" doesn't adapt well to changing conditions — and it's losing almost every challenge. More
