Designer Helen Macfarlane had been operating an interior decorating business for 25 years when a visit to Florian Caffe in St Mark's Square in Venice 10 years ago made her change course. "The mirrored walls in the Florian are beautiful. They don't scream at you, like most mirrors," says Macfarlane, who, while appreciating the mirrors, didn't have the patience to wait 60 years for her mirrors to age.
