Northeast and mid-Atlantic grid operator PJM Interconnect recently welcomed a new project to promote technology that can use battery power from electric vehicles to smooth peaks and troughs in grid demand. Other union officials violated pension law

Thomas Villanova isn't the only official from Local 134 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers who participated in a city pension and a union pension at the same time, in violation of state law. Three other local leaders who did so stand to collect more than $6 million from the municipal pension fund in their lifetimes, according to an analysis by the Chicago Tribune and WGN-TV. More

Newtek Business Services announced the release of the Small Business Authority Index for August 2011, which reached 108.06 points. The SB Authority Index is up 0.76 percent from July 2011, with approved SBA loan volumes, the Russell microcap index and retail sales causing the increase in the index.
