The IGLTA stand in the Gay Pavilion at the ITB Berlin trade fair (7-11 March) will again be the cornerstone of LGBT networking. Hosting more than two dozen booth share and brochure distribution partners, it's a one-stop shopping destination for the latest information on LGBT offers worldwide. IGLTA networking events also are planned throughout the week:
  • A "Champagne & Canapés" lunchtime reception in the Chic Outlet Shopping® stand on 8 March, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. (Hall 18, Stand 125). Space is limited; please RSVP.
  • Presentation of the UNWTO "Global Report on LGBT Tourism" on 8 March at 5 p.m. followed by a cocktail reception hosted by Embratur/Santur to promote the IGLTA Annual Global Convention in Florianopolis this April (both events in the Gay Pavilion).
  • The annual IGLTA Member Networking Reception at the Axel Hotel on 9 March at 9 p.m. Please RSVP.

Costa Allegra loses propulsion after engine room fire

Costa's Costa Allegra was adrift in the Indian Ocean near the Seychelles on Feb. 27 after a fire in the generator room. The fire was promptly extinguished, and no injuries were reported, the company said in a statement. Costa said the fire did not spread to any other area of the ship. More

India government: Gay sex legal

The Indian government Tuesday clarified to the Supreme Court that it accepts a recent ruling legalizing gay sex in the country. A lawyer told the Supreme Court that the government would not challenge a 2009 order by the Delhi High Court striking down a colonial-era law that made gay sex a crime. More

Same-sex marriage boosts revenues in New York
