Community rallies in Prague for dotgay bid

LGBT community leaders from the Czech capital gathered at the Prague Hilton's Cloud 9 Skybar on 26 June in support of the dotgay LLC bid to manage the .gay top-level domain. The reception, held on the occasion of ICANN 44 (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) and jointly organized with Prague Pride and IGLTA Global Partner Hilton, showed community support of the dotgay LLC application to members of ICANN and the Government Advisory Committee. Of the five applications submitted to ICANN requesting management rights to the .gay top-level domain, dotgay LLC is the only community-based applicant and already has garnered the support of more than 130 LGBT organizations and business, representing more than 8 million consumers worldwide. Among those speaking in support of the dotgay LLC was IGLTA Vice President – Europe Clark Massad.
