The KAFP Annual Meeting brings this educational session: "Human Trafficking Education for the Healthcare Professional." You will learn about the scope and general characteristics of human trafficking and how to recognize the red flags and indicators and take the proper actions if a human trafficking situation is suspected.
The 2016 KAFP Annual Meeting, "Kansas Grown: Strong, Healthy & Caring" scheduled for June 9 -11, 2016 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Overland Park, welcomes speaker, Nicole Ensminger, Via Christ Health's Human Trafficking Program Manager.
Nicole Ensminger has a great passion for the fight against human trafficking. As Via Christi Health’s Human Trafficking Program Manager, she works to educate healthcare professionals and the public about a crime that happens in communities across the United States. While obtaining her masters in healthcare leadership, Nicole discovered the great need for healthcare professionals to be educated on how to recognize victims of human trafficking and how to safely and effectively provide assistance. She had a vision of creating an education program and an identification assessment tool for healthcare professionals.

This law repealed the flawed Medicare sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula that calculated payment cuts for physicians. MACRA establishes an alternative set of predictable annual baseline payment updates and two payment tracks: the alternative payment model (APM) track and the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) track.
