Meaningful use and PQRS deadlines extended
KAFP
Good news! CMS has extended the reporting deadlines for PQRS and Meaningful Use to allow the opportunity to attest to participation in both programs. Eligible professionals now have until 10:59 p.m. CT on March 20, 2015, to attest to meaningful use for the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program 2014 reporting year. CMS reminds providers to attest as soon as possible and that providers who successfully attest for the 2014 program year will:
Receive an incentive payment
Avoid the Medicare payment adjustment, which will be applied Jan. 1, 2016

The Legislature has hit the midpoint of the session, called "turnaround," when most bills must have passed their chamber of origin to move forward in 2015. Certain committees, such as Appropriations, Ways and Means, Federal and State Affairs and Taxation, are exempted. Any bills introduced or referred there are not subject to turnaround and other calendar deadlines.
House to hold Medicaid expansion hearing

House leadership was on a schedule to wrap up for turnaround and quickly realized Medicaid expansion would significantly lengthen their debate schedule.
