The Health is Primary campaign from Family Medicine for America's Health has focused its efforts for August on promoting childhood and adult immunizations.
Here are some valuable resources for you:
Patient handout explaining the basics of vaccines, including the safety of immunizations, why they are important, who should get them and possible side effects.
Immunization resources to support your efforts to increase patient vaccination rates.
These resources include up-to-date influenza vaccine information, disease- and population-specific resources and reports from research endeavors such as the AAFP's Office Champions project on child and adolescent immunization.
The campaign created immunization resources that include easy-to-read immunization recommendation charts for infants, children and teens — as well as for adults.
Spanish-language Kids' Immunization Chart & Spanish language chart for adults available.
August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM). Each week, NIAM focuses on a different target group, providing tools and resources for you. This week's focus is babies and young children. Next week's focus is ensuring a healthy future with vaccines of vaccinations (preteens and teens). All toolkits are available to view or download online.
Put the Brakes on Fatality Day is Monday, Oct. 10. Traffic crashes are a leading cause of death in the U.S. A poster and video contest for Kansas children aims to raise awareness of traffic safety.
