The 10 commandments of hiring and employee retention
    By Mel Kleiman
Recruiting and hiring the right employees is essential to the success of your business. If you are going to succeed, you cannot settle for run-of-the-mill employees. Mediocre employees breed mediocrity, so make sure you recruit and select only the best employees. If you will follow these commandments and remain focused, dedicated and committed to hiring the best, you will soon see that your organization becomes just that — the best.

    Money Business Life Network

5 commandments every business owner — and self-employed professional — should live by
    Yahoo
Love him or hate him, Robert Kyosaki's cash flow quadrant is nothing short of a stroke of pure genius when describing the difference between the self-employed and the business owner. However, there is example upon pointed example of the self-employed confusing themselves with business owners. They aren't. At least, not yet. However, if these up and coming professionals would practice the law of leverage, they could make the transition from self-employed to business owner much faster but only if they subscribe to the five business commandments that every business owner should live by.

It's time to pay your employees to quit — Will you do it?
    By Robin Throckmorton
Following in the footsteps of Zappos, Amazon recently implemented its own "pay to quit" program to find out just how happy its employees are. In a nutshell, Amazon is offering up to $5,000 to employees to quit, with hopes that they won't take it. Why would Amazon do something like this? The online retailer has realized the value of having employees who want to work for the company and gives those who don't a way out. Can you afford this impact on your company?

Google: Driverless cars mastering city streets
    The Associated Press via Manufacturing.net
Google says it has turned a corner in its pursuit of a car that can drive itself. The tech giant's self-driving cars already can navigate freeways comfortably, albeit with a driver ready to take control. But city driving — with its obstacle course of jaywalkers, bicyclists and blind corners — has been a far greater challenge for the cars' computers. In a blog entry posted recently, the project's leader said test cars now can handle thousands of urban situations that would have stumped them a year or two ago.

Should your small business offer a 401(k) plan?

If your business has only a few employees, you may think you're too small to offer a 401(k) plan. But even entrepreneurs have to retire someday and there's no time like the present to start planning for the future.
