    LOCATOR

Were you one of the over 50,000 people who visited Locatoronline.com in May?
    • Nearly 1 Million Hits!
    • 700,000 Page Views!
    • Over 50,000 Visitors!
While many websites in the industry continue to trend downward, our website traffic has been trending up over the last 24 months. Our recent SEO initiative has had a huge impact on our website traffic. In addition to improving the way we use our H1 Tags, we rewrote our Title Tags for greater optimization. We optimized all of our images and certain other elements to increase page load speed. This greatly improved our relevance scores and made us even more attractive to the algorithms that Google, Bing, and other web browsers use. The end user experience has improved dramatically with faster page loads and the ability to view all machines under a single category without having to leave the page.

We are quickly becoming the site that buyers go to Locate used machines. They can now navigate within broader categories. They can click on a listing and navigate to other listings from that dealer, listings from that manufacturer or listings within that category. Remember, they can’t buy your machines if they can't Locate them. If you're not currently listing your machines at Locatoronline.com then you’re missing out on thousands of prospective buyers.

We will continue to trend up and the value of the listings and ads at Locator will continue to increase!

If you would like to discuss the advantages of putting a display ad in our directory and online or have never advertised with Locator Services before, simply call Jim Bowman at 703-683-5957 or email JBowman@locatoronline.com. He would be happy to help you round out your sales and marketing strategy and discuss which products and services would work best for you.

    Debunking myths about manufacturing jobs
    CNBC
Manufacturing jobs have a reputation — and it's often not complimentary. The clichéd image of a manufacturing job is of dirty, backbreaking, low-paying labor. And women need not apply — it's an industry dominated by men. But separating fact from fiction about the actual people behind the welder's mask and on the assembly line can be tricky.

Small manufacturers need agile and adept robots
    By Alan Kelsky
Two industries that were important in the foundation and growth of the American middle class are the automobile and steel industries. In the auto industry, Henry Ford is credited with creating the assembly line. Once it proved itself in Ford's factory, the assembly line was adopted by manufacturers in nearly every market. Manufacturers now produce more cars with far fewer employees, and car sales are again breaking records. One big reason is factory automation.

US industrial output hurt by weakness in manufacturing, mining
    Reuters
U.S. industrial production unexpectedly fell in May as manufacturing and mining activity remained weak, a sign that a strong dollar and spending cuts in the energy sector continued to constrain economic growth. The softness in the production side of the economy contrasts starkly with recent upbeat data on retail sales, employment, consumer and small business confidence, which have pointed to a growth pickup after a sluggish start to the second quarter.
