Locator CIMS offers easy, secure access with a Web front-end and cutting edge technology and functionality. MDNA members get a 10 percent discount and you can even choose a 12-month payment plan option.

New skills needed for new manufacturing technology
Advanced manufacturing has been identified by industry, government and academia as an important driver of future economic growth in the U.S. According to its proponents, advanced manufacturing will provide high-paying jobs in regions that suffered from an exodus of traditional manufacturing jobs in the late 20th century. In order to fulfill this promise, the American workforce needs technical training in new manufacturing technologies.

Where are the most US manufacturing workers? Los Angeles
The Wall Street Journal
The largest center of manufacturing in the U.S. is about as far from the rust belt as you can get. The Los Angeles metro area has the most manufacturing workers in the country. More people work in factories there than traditional blue-collar towns such as Chicago, Detroit or Philadelphia. While the number of manufacturing workers in Los Angeles and nationwide has plummeted from 25 years ago, the community has maintained its leadership position.

Wal-Mart strives to 'reshore' products
The Washington Post
The group cheer at Wal-Mart's third annual American manufacturing summit — convened to find more American-made products — was greeted with a voice from another era. "Almost anything can be made by Americans, in this country, and be done efficiently," founder Sam Walton said in a grainy black-and-white video clip from the 1980s, explaining Wal-Mart's mission to buy more products at home. Ultimately, Walton failed. American factories that might have fueled the effort instead closed. Critics blamed Wal-Mart's insistence on low costs for driving the supply chain to China, where large factories and cheap labor overwhelmed American rivals.

Industrial production rises but manufacturing flat
USA Today
Industrial production ticked up 0.3 percent in June as the mining and utilities sectors saw a boost from an increase in crude oil extraction. The index of manufacturing, mining and utilities increased slightly in June after falling 0.2 percent in May, the Federal Reserve said. That beat estimates of 0.2 percent growth compiled by a Bloomberg survey of economists.
