Were you one of the nearly 100,000 people who visited Locatoronline.com last month?
While many websites in the industry continue to trend downward, our website traffic has been trending up over the last 24 months. Our recent SEO initiative has had a huge impact on our website traffic. In addition to improving the way we use our H1 Tags, we rewrote our Title Tags for greater optimization. We optimized all of our images and certain other elements to increase page load speed. This greatly improved our relevance scores and made us even more attractive to the algorithms that Google, Bing and other Web browsers used. The end user experience has improved dramatically with faster page loads and the ability to view all machines under a single category without having to leave the page.
- 1 Million Hits in July!
- 800,000 Page Views!
- Nearly 100,000 Visitors!
- Over a Quarter Million visitors in Q2-2017!
- Locator Specialty Section now online!
- This month's focus is on PRESSES!
- Next quarter we will focus on MACHINING CENTERS! Contact us to place an ad.
We are quickly becoming the site where buyers go to Locate used machines. They can now navigate within broader categories. They can click on a listing and navigate to other listings from that dealer, listings from that manufacturer or listings within that category. Remember, they can't buy your machines if they can't Locate them. If you're not currently listing your machines at Locatoronline.com, then you're missing out on thousands of prospective buyers.
We will continue to trend up and the value of the listings and ads at Locator will continue to increase!
If you would like to discuss the advantages of putting a display ad in our directory, a Banner Ad online or have never advertised with Locator Services before, simply call Jim Bowman at 703-683-5957 or email JBowman@locatoronline.com. He would be happy to help you round out your sales and marketing strategy and discuss which products and services would work best for you
Letter from the President
Hey Guys (and Gals),
The crazy picture above was taken during a Weekend With The Pros Event in Milwaukee a few years back. If you were at that event you saw the amazing animal displays at MDNA Member Firm, Wisconsin Metalworking Machinery and at our Premier Vendor, Bentley World-Packaging Ltd. Two of the tour stops during that highly successful WWTP.
The MDNA National Team and the Detroit/Toledo Chapter are hard at work preparing for this year's WWTP. Every week another element is added. Last week, registration was opened and you can find out the latest news on this and all events at www.mdna.org by clicking on the Calendar Page.
Again, this year the WWTP will be preceded by a B.O.S.S. Seminar. If you're asking what is a B.O.S.S. Seminar, then you need to learn more about another great benefit of membership. The Business Owners Success Seminar is open only to member owners or principles. In this private, closed door, seminar members talk about topics that can help fellow owners be successful in the used machinery business. You learn from fellow members with proven track records.
I attend both the WWTP and B.O.S.S. events not just for the tour stops and educational opportunities, but mainly for the networking and fellowship that this casual weekend offers. I benefit personally and my company benefits as well.
Hope to see you there! Joe

The wearables devices market is thriving, thanks to workers' need for real-time data across various industries, including manufacturing, logistics, construction, mining, retail and healthcare. With IoT being widely used across these sectors, the implementation of wearables is the next technological step to make that level of connectedness as accessible as possible. Businesses are keen to incorporate wearables into their portfolio, and worker feedback is positive.
Businesses across the manufacturing industry are currently facing a number of new challenges. In response to the increase in demand for more bespoke and personalized designs from customers, manufacturers need efficient R&D processes that will enable them to reduce engineering time and costs, and accelerate time to market, producing new designs quickly enough to ensure they remain competitive.
German industrial giant Siemens this week debuted an upgraded training center for advanced manufacturing workers in the heart of the Midwest. The company's expanded Technical Application Center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, allows machine tool dealers and importers, along with select end-users, to train workers on Siemens software free of charge.
In a recent survey of senior decision makers in U.K. manufacturing companies, 93 percent said their company permitted mobile working, and they all believed it increased productivity. With increased productivity comes increased revenues, a reduction in errors, and the ability to work from anywhere, any time. In 2017 it's no longer a surprise to see people working from laptops or mobiles, so as we become more digitally comfortable, there should be a drive towards adopting mobility within business environments.
