Letter from the President
We Are Family — Take Two!
Did you know that the MDNA Family extends down the east coast and throughout Florida? And, just as the case in Texas, our Florida members have survived the devastating storm Irma. While some are still without power and/or phones it could have been much worse for any one of them.
Appreciating the geographical diversity of our membership and knowing that in almost any part of the United States or Canada or throughout Europe or Asia we have great MDNA Members who we can count on, in good times and in bad, is a great attribute to this association.
In case you want to add your voice to the many well-wishers and want to reach out to our members in Florida, and/or take advantage of their "post hurricane machinery specials", GO HERE for a list of our used machinery family.
MDNA President — Joe Lundvick, CEA

Congratulations to Jennifer Gray and her husband Jason. They welcomed their first born on September 15th. Grayson Jack Calcagno, mom and dad are reported to all be doing great.
Update your listings today and they'll update on the MDNA site too! November directory closing is October 10th.
Have you updated your listings yet for the Locator November 2017 print directory?
Did you know that your listings at LocatorOnline can also be found on the MDNA website under find machinery? It's exclusive and only MDNA member machinery can be found there, so it's another great advantage for not only being in the MDNA but also advertising with Locator Services. Machine listings on both sites for the price of one! To update your listings, simply follow this link and login through your Dealers' Back Office. Click on Add Listings and add the machines you would like to include in the November Edition and online at both sites. Don't miss out! Deadline for the Locator Print Directory is close of business October 10th.
- Over 100,000 in hard copy distribution!
- New Brand Stamps where you can advertise specifically in the machine categories where you are the specialist!
- Nov. "Specialty Section" is focusing on Machining Centers! Contact us if you would like to put a display ad in this section.
- Like to see the machines you specialize in on the cover of an upcoming edition of our directory? Contact us and let us know what machine categories you would like to see in our "Specialty Section!"
If you would like to discuss the advantages of putting a display ad in our directory and online or have never advertised with Locator Services before, simply call Jim Bowman at 703-683-5957 or email JBowman@locatoronline.com. He would be happy to help you round out your sales and marketing strategy and discuss which products and services would work best for you. MDNA members may also qualify for prompt pay discount of up to 10 percent.

A third round of NAFTA renegotiations has begun with chief negotiators from Canada, the U.S. and Mexico meeting in the Canadian capital. Canada's chief negotiator, Steve Verhuel, said recently that he doesn't expect this round to see any new U.S. proposal to increase American content requirements for autos. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer has said he wants to see an increase.
Tesla Inc. is denying claims that it threatened to fire pro-union workers at its Fremont, California, factory and tried to prevent them from passing out union literature. The National Labor Relations Board filed a complaint against Tesla earlier this month, citing multiple incidents in which Tesla security guards allegedly refused to let off-duty employees hand out leaflets about the United Auto Workers union near the doors of the company's factory.
Manufacturers with after-sales service organisations are racking up hidden costs from capital, service, time and resources by simply relying on their traditional ERP systems for service parts management. With higher customer expectations than ever before, manufacturers need to look at new ways to maintain customer loyalty and elevate the overall integrity of the brand. What many don't recognise are the profit opportunities in optimising inventory and part availability.
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said the Trump administration has decided to defer a decision on steel tariffs as it focuses on getting tax reforms through Congress. "The policy decision has been made to postpone that until the tax bill," Ross said recently in an interview on Bloomberg Television, when asked about his department's review of the national-security implications of steel imports.
