LOCATOR
Were you one of the over 72,000 people who visited Locatoronline.com in the past month?
  • Over 1.1 Million Hits!
  • Nearly 900,000 Page Views!
  • Over 72,000 Visitors!
  • {New} Locator Specialty Section now online! This month’s focus is on Lathes and Turning Centers!
While many websites in the industry continue to trend downward, our website traffic has been trending up over the last 24 months. Our recent SEO initiative has had a huge impact on our website traffic. In addition to improving the way we use our H1 Tags, we rewrote our Title Tags for greater optimization. We optimized all of our images and certain other elements to increase page load speed. This greatly improved our relevance scores and made us even more attractive to the algorithms that Google, Bing and other Web browsers used. The end user experience has improved dramatically with faster page loads and the ability to view all machines under a single category without having to leave the page.

We are quickly becoming the site that buyers go to Locate used machines. They can now navigate within broader categories. They can click on a listing and navigate to other listings from that dealer, listings from that manufacturer or listings within that category. Remember, they can't buy your machines if they can't Locate them. If you're not currently listing your machines at Locatoronline.com, then you're missing out on thousands of prospective buyers.

We will continue to trend up and the value of the listings and ads at Locator will continue to increase!

If you would like to discuss the advantages of putting a display ad in our directory, a Banner Ad online or have never advertised with Locator Services before, simply call Jim Bowman at 703-683-5957 or email JBowman@locatoronline.com. He would be happy to help you round out your sales and marketing strategy and discuss which products and services would work best for you.

What is the true state of manufacturing in the United States?
By Alan Kelsky
Experts in manufacturing hold differing opinions about how well the sector is doing since the Great Recession. In fact, the same sources tend to be schizophrenic about the manufacturing sector's progress. For example, CNBC ran a recent story entitled, "Is there a renaissance in US manufacturing? Numbers don't add up." Two weeks later, CNBC reported a different story — "The manufacturing renaissance in America's heartland." So, are you as confused as I am?

The missing link for American manufacturing
The Hill
If there's one proposition on which every presidential candidate — from Ben Carson to Sen. Bernie Sanders — can agree, it's that manufacturing matters. Even in the early days of the race, the 2016 contenders have already proposed a dizzyingly diverse range of policies designed to restore the sector: from infrastructure investments and ending offshoring loopholes to cutting corporate taxes and reducing regulations

Understanding the rise of manufacturing in India
Harvard Business Review
When many executives think about manufacturing, China is the first country that comes to mind. But there are other players grabbing a bit of that spotlight — like India. Despite the conventional wisdom that says India's place in the global economy revolves around digital bits and services rather than material atoms, the country is starting to attract more attention for its manufacturing potential for a number of reasons.
