Teacher's Survival Guide

With August, the back-to-school month, just two weeks away, NAGC would like to offer new teachers the support and encouragement they’ll need with a “Survival Guide for First Year Teachers.” Despite the ups and the downs of those first few months, many veteran teachers agree that the first year of teaching affords great opportunities for personal reflection and professional development. This webinar will give new teachers a wide variety of strategies, activities, and tools for creating a positive and dynamic learning environment while meeting the challenges of each school day. Not a new teacher? Then you will want to tune in to hear about new techniques and brush up on your tactics. Packed with valuable tips, teachers will gain insight on topics from connecting and mentoring gifted children to working within diverse classrooms.

New teachers should also consider grabbing a copy of Teacher's Survival Guide: Gifted Education to keep by their sides. The book is filled with practical information, tips for success, and advice from experienced educators perfect for beginning and early career teachers. Teacher's Survival Guide: Gifted Education covers topics essential to gifted education teachers, including strategies for recognizing and identifying giftedness, encouraging creativity, and providing the multiple opportunities and resources gifted kids need.
