State and local sales tax laws require you to have these resale certificates on file. If your business is audited, you'll need to produce them. If you don't get a resale certificate from one of your customers, you are legally required to collect sales tax from them for the state where your equipment is delivered. More

Conscious Coffees is making an impact by not making an impact. The company won the 2011 Micro Roaster of the Year award from Roast, a magazine dedicated to the craft. So if they're trying not to make an impact in the coffee-roasting industry, and in the Boulder, Colo., community, they're failing. Their environmental impact, though, couldn't be much lower. A certified organic and fair-trade roaster, Conscious Coffees has been providing coffee to Boulder companies for 15 years. More
