Buffalo, N.Y., area schools cut junk in vending machines

Grabbing a snack from a school vending machine isn't as sweet an experience as it was years ago—and that's a good thing. In many schools, soda and other sugary drinks have been replaced by water and low-fat milk. Granola bars and yogurt have taken the place of candy and gum. And school cafeterias are offering wider varieties of healthy food. Better nutrition is catching on. More
