Senate OKs limit on vending machine fee increases

The Senate has put its stamp of approval on a budget amendment that would prevent the state's annual license fee for vending machines from being raised more than 100 percent in a calendar year. The amendment to the fiscal 2013 state budget is intended to stop a proposed 567 percent hike in the annual license fee for vending machines — from $3 per machine to $20 — that's been proposed by the state Department of Public Health.
