How small businesses can avoid a data security disaster like LinkedIn's
The Washington Post    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Small businesses live and die by the quality of their contacts — specifically, the degree to which they care for and build trust with the customer, vendor and community networks that make them profitable. The greatest risks: phishing, extortion and ultimately fraud or identity theft. More

Steeped tea takes a step sideways
CNET    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
Coffee drinkers have all the fun. That is not necessarily a bad thing as so many people drink coffee, but tea drinkers need their say, too. When it comes to gadgetry, there seems to be a disproportionate amount of coffee tools as there are tea-making tools. But with so many varieties of tea available both loose and bagged, tea drinkers deserve to have their teacake and eat it, too. The Nesco TM-1 Tea Maker provides an easy method for brewing both loose and bagged tea. More

Small Business owners' mindset: How to survive in tough times
Fox Business    Share    Share on FacebookTwitterShare on LinkedinE-mail article
The American economy has always been rooted in small business, so when one gets sick, the other catches a cold. According to the Small Business Administration, "the 23 million small businesses in America account for 54 percent of all U.S. sales." The SBA adds "small businesses provide 55 percent of all jobs and 66 percent of all net new jobs since the 1970s," which makes their recovery vital to repairing the current weak labor market. However, access to capital remains a challenge for small business owners, making it hard for them to expand their business and increase payroll. More
