PACMA, MCAA, NCMA converge on Capitol Hill lawmakers to promote concrete masonry check-off bill
NCMA
A team of 51 politically energized members of the Pennsylvania Concrete Masonry Association, NCMA members at large from other key sates and the Mason Contractors Association of America converged on Washington, D.C., on May 8-9 to promote the Concrete Masonry Products Research, Education and Promotion Act (H.R.3395). The bill would authorize the concrete masonry industry to pursue a self-funded commodity check-off program, which would manage important research, education and promotion of concrete masonry. One hundred and two separate congressional office visits were completed by PACMA and NCMA delegates with MCAA visiting at least 80 more. PACMA was particularly focused on visiting all 21 members of Pennsylvania's congressional delegation. "We are proud to now have seven congressmen from PA who have agreed, via written communication, to sponsor and more are on the way," Jan Boyer said, executive director of PACMA.More
