Musical celebrities were all over Cannes this year, but only Jay-Z is actually picking up hardware. New York agency Droga5 continued its hot streak at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity with big wins for its Bing/Jay-Z Decoded campaign in the key Titanium/Integrated Lions category. The campaign won the Integrated Grand Prix and nabbed a Titanium Lion, winning over a jury that was "looking for the bravest idea." The Titanium Lion was launched in 2003 to recognize emerging forms of brand work that wouldn’t neatly fit into the existing award categories; the Integrated Lion was added in 2005, though the definition of what falls under each title has been fluid. Inflatable seat belts look like regular seat belts but with slightly more padding, since the air bag is sewn into them. When the car is in a severe crash, a balloon-like cushion inflates along the belt from the shoulder to the buckle. The belts help prevent chest injuries by distributing the force of the crash over an area that's five times larger than a traditional seat belt. They also cushion the neck. More
Design Faculty Positions at Northwestern University 1. Chair, Segal Design Institute We seek an internationally recognized scholar who brings strong vision and leadership to the Segal Design Institute. The successful candidate will join a department within the McCormick School of Engineering as a tenured member of the faculty. Segal is a unit within McCormick that links all of the design activities at Northwestern and provides strong connections to the rich design community in the Chicago area. Segal offers a wide range of courses as well as certificate and degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We expect the candidate to play an active role in growing Segal, especially from the standpoint of doctoral level research.
