Training on the road
On July 29, OESP will be delivering another module of the new Home Comfort Specialist Academy. Ralph Adams will be presenting the morning workshop. Attendees will gain insight into what a customer expects from an energy sales professional. As a professional, you need to look at the entire house; not just a tired old boiler replacement. Today's homeowners are prepared and expect more from their energy professionals.

After lunch, Tim Begoske, professional trainer for Field Controls, will present the workshop, "Healthy Home System." This workshop is tied with our Home Comfort Specialist Academy. Tim will review add-ons such as air cleaners, UV lights and ventilation systems and ways to sell upgrades.

Tuesday, July 30, Dan Holohan will work with those in our ongoing Train-the-Trainer program. The workshop, "Training for Trainers," is designed to help trainers understand the preparation needed to deliver training. Attendees will learn that there is an art to starting a seminar and we'll start there with ways to organize. We'll explore training vs. learning, linear vs. non-linear teaching tools and ways to produce ideas. Clustering is a powerful technique and we'll learn how that works into a memorable presentation.

For outlines describing these workshops, visit You can register online as well. Both workshops will be held 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the ICPA School, 10 Alcap Ridge Road, in Cromwell, Conn.
